The lower limit of ABV for all styles is now 0.5%, the lowest alcohol by volume content that requires an ABV statement on the label as prescribed by the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code – Standard 2.7.1.

Reduced and Low Alcohol beers can now either be entered into their respective Classes (e.g. Class 1 through 21) according to style, or into Class 15 – ‘Reduced or Low Alcohol’, however they cannot be entered into both.

Entries in Class 15 must state the base style.  The stated ABV must be as advertised.  Entries in Class 15 will be audited to verify their alcohol content and Exhibitors may also be asked to provide their own report on alcohol content.
